Leaving Nova? Bring your home with you.

Make a backup in Nova, Lawnchair or Octopi and open it in Hybrid Launcher. Your pages, folders, dock and widgets' places come along.

Coming soon to Google Play

1. Make a backup where your home is now

  • NovaNova Settings > Backup & restore > BackupThe file: .novabackup
  • LawnchairLawnchair Settings > BackupThe file: .lawnchairbackup
  • OctopiOctopi Settings > Backup settingsThe file: OtpLauncher_<date>.zip

Made the backup on another phone? Copy the file over to this one.

2. Open it in Hybrid Launcher

  1. In Hybrid Launcher, open Settings > Backup > Import.
  2. Tap the launcher you come from, then Pick the backup file, and choose the file.
  3. Look at the preview: it is your home as it will be. If the backup's grid is not yours, the Grid row offers it, or keeps yours.
  4. Tap Use this home. Your home is in place.

On a new install, home also shows a card, Bring your home from another launcher, that starts the same way.

What comes along

  • Your pages.
  • Your icons, in their places, fitted to the grid.
  • Folders, with their names.
  • The dock, switched on if it was.
  • Folders in the app drawer, from Nova and Octopi.
  • Your widgets' places. Each waits as Tap to set up - one tap sets it up again.
  • From Octopi, the cover screen's home or the inner screen's: you pick in the preview.

What stays behind

  • Icon packs, and icons you changed.
  • Gestures, themes and the wallpaper.
  • Names you gave apps.
  • Shortcuts pinned to the home screen.
  • Apps that are not on this phone. Hybrid Launcher tells you how many it skipped.

Nothing changes until you say so

The preview writes nothing. Use this home replaces your home in Hybrid Launcher with the one in the backup; it never mixes the two. The file is read on your phone, Hybrid Launcher keeps the layout and nothing else from it, and nothing in it is sent anywhere.

From One UI Home or Pixel Launcher?

Their layout can't be imported: Android keeps it for Samsung's and Google's own apps, so other launchers cannot read it. Set your home up once in Hybrid Launcher instead - it stays where you put it.

Everything else it does: Hybrid Launcher
