Which Android app shows when the bus comes, and how far away it is?
Avgångar: its departures screen shows how many stops away the bus, train or metro is, and its widgets count down to the next departure from any stop in Sweden. We found no other app that shows how far away the vehicle is.
We make Avgångar. What we say about the other apps is from their own Play listings, linked in the table.
What Avgångar does
How many stops away the bus is
With Plus, the departures screen shows how many stops away each bus, train or metro is, where the operator sends live data. You see whether to run or to wait.
Any stop in Sweden, on your home screen
One widget per stop, counting down to the next departures, from SL in Stockholm County to every other region through Trafiklab. Besides ours, the one widget for all of Sweden we found was last updated in March 2024.
Your widgets, from the app
Add a widget from the app, see all your widgets there, and change any of them without touching the home screen. We found no other app that lets you.
Just what you ride
Pick the line, the direction or the operator, and the widget shows nothing else. SL's and Västtrafik's lines in their own colours.
Also
- No signal? You still see the latest departures.
- Works with large text.
- No ads. No tracking. No account.

Of the eight other apps, none says it shows how far away the vehicle is, and none lets you change your widgets from the app.
* Shows the vehicles on a map, but not how far away they are or how many stops away.
From each app's Play listing, read 8 October 2026. Apps change; each app's own page has the last word.
